PERITONEAL DIALYSIS AND CONTINUOUS RENAL REPLACEMENT THERAPY WORKSHOP (CRRT)
Introduction
In recent years there has been a focus on the essential role of the Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) Nurse as educator. From the start of PD Training which continues during the out-patient follow–up the role of the PD nurse remains integral to ensuring the PD patients well being, this workshop will be of great help for the increasing number of Chronic Kidney Disease patients requiring renal replacement therapy.
Aim
This workshop aims to equip participants to
have a better understanding of peritoneal dialysis and CRRT.
Expected Learning Outcome
1. Identify the roles and responsibilities of the nurse in the care of peritoneal dialysis /CRRT patients.
2. Discuss the prevention of PD/CRRT complications related to therapy.
3. Apply the role of being PD/CRRT educator, coach and clinician.
4. Observe the peritoneal dialysis/CRRT procedure.
